Work day status update: On schedule as planned.

This week’s priority jobs:
- To wrap up this year’s work days, we’ll finish by putting tarps over the exposed compost / soil where the brush pile used to be. These will keep the pile from becoming overgrown with weeds. We’ll weight the tarps down with rocks that we remove from the space between the restrooms and barn.

- If we have time, we can use fill in some low spots in the yard with soil and add grass seed.

- At noon, we’ll finish up with a Pizza party! People who have helped out at this year’s work days are invited, and so are people who would like to stop by to see what we’ve accomplished!

- ATTENTION GARDENERS! We would like to start thinking about developing the property utilizing native plants. If you’re a gardener, please stop by so that you can see the space, meet others, and talk about planning for the future.

Please bring hand trucks, carts, etc. that would be helpful for moving rocks.

Overview:
This is your last chance in 2026 to join us at our Volunteer Work Days. Pitch in to spruce up the Strasburg Heritage Society’s grounds, to make our place something that we can be proud of! This is a great opportunity to meet people and learn from them. It’s a chance to feel the satisfaction of being part of a group that is accomplishing something worthwhile. We’ll put the old saying into practice: “Many hands make light work!”
